Dare To Compare Encore VS Trax
Dare To Compare
The Buick Encore and Chevrolet Trax provide the small SUV segment with reliable, everyday practicality with great features and cutting-edge technology and design. However, you might be wondering which option you should choose for your lifestyle. On one hand, the Buick brand name is associated with long-lasting luxury; on the other, the Chevy Trax offers competitive pricing and comparable features. Which should you choose?

Affordability
While the range-topping models showcase a few thousand dollars’ worth of difference between the Encore and Trax, the truth is that there’s not a big difference between the base entry-level costs of both vehicles. The Buick’s MSRP is priced about $3,000 higher than the Chevy’s, but when you consider the Encore is a luxury SUV, that’s not a big price jump.
Performance
The Buick Encore and Chevrolet Trax are extremely similar in many ways - they have similar fuel economy, similar interior space, and can both carry about five passengers. However, one point where they differ is in power. The Trax can offer a max of up to 138 horsepower, while the Encore has a boost at 153 horsepower for a smoother, more capable ride.
Safety
The Buick Encore comes standard with a Rear Vision Camera with parking sensors, which isn’t available on the Chevy Trax. The Encore also offers an OnStar Telematics system and emergency calling and assistance systems, none of which are available on the Trax.
Verdict
The Trax and Encore are comparable in several ways. However, the 2017 Buick Encore gets better performance and has several safety systems the entry-level Trax does not. The Buick Encore wins our vote. You can see the 2017 Buick Encore for yourself at Union Park Buick.
